[edit] About

Pages, that contain content that is suspected to be wrong, incomplete or confusing, are marked with the {{accuracy}} flag. This means that we need to find a way to do something about it to change this page to provide the information it needs to offer.

[edit] The Message Box

When a page has the {{accuracy}} flag in it, a Message Box will appear at this place that looks like this:

{{accuracy}}
The factual accuracy of this article is disputed.
Please see the relevant discussion on the talk page.

This makes sure that people see that the contents on this page may in some cases not be trusted.

[edit] Dispute ?

Different people reading the same information may interpret them differently. An expert may find some information perfectly complete whereas a newbie does not understand one word. Documentation has to go a middle way. We need to make sure that most kind of experience level of people is taken in consideration while writing some docs. This is often happening in discussions in the "Talk" page of the coresponding page.

[edit] Goal

The {{accuracy}} flag can be removed, when the page do not contain any wrong or confusing information but is as a unit complete. This is also the goal of documentation in general.

[edit] What can I do ?

You can check the Category containing pages with the Accuracy Disputes. If you can say of yourself that you understand the subject and are able to write so that normal users may understand, you should participate in the Talk in this page and help with suggestions how to make the page correct. If you are not sure on some parts, let it be, but if you are sure but nobody is participating in the dispute on a certain page, you should change the page to reflect a state that is correct and less confusing and complete from your point of view. Mention what you did in the Talk page and remove the {{accuracy}} if you think you did your level best to enhance the quality of the contents.
