What about the section of installing OpenOffice.org 1.1.4? As of March 2008, it isn't available in the repositories anymore. Which means that section is absolete. - User:SS2
I've got a problem with this. Nothing happens when I run /opt/openoffice/setup or soffice, no matter if root or user. I also moved my .openoffice folder (old home Folder from Gentoo). Any ideas? There's also no output on the terminal.
- sure, you installed it correctly? perhaps remove and install it again :) user:Hellwoofa

I just edited the "Set OOo environment variable" part. I wanted to emphasize the possibility to configure the look globaly by using a file in /etc/profile.d/, because this is probably what most people are looking for. I use openbox, and first followed the "Environment variable scripts" section, which is not very useful when using a filemanager to open a file, because this way, it would not set the environment variable. So i made a new section "Configure globally" and rearanged all the information in the section. I'm pretty happy with it, but english is not my first language, so please have a quick look for spelling and style --Argh 15:46, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
