Check the IBM ThinkPad T23 page. I believe you have one of those. I overhauled it. I removed issues no longer effecting these sorts of ThinkPads. Also, I mentioned the software suspend and hibernate scripts. I highly recommend you look at those, as they're designed and better equipped to deal with suspend and hibernate. It makes it unnecessary to roll your scripts to restart services, etc.
