Merge to file systems
This page is mostly basic mount examples together with tangential content (e.g. on FAT and NTFS), rather than a comprehensive article on mount itself. As such, I suggest to merge it to File systems and other applicable articles such as NTFS to keep information in one place. -- Alad (talk) 14:25, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
- I've taken a large chunk and split it amont File systems and fstab, trying to keep things organized. For now I've linked to File systems#Mount a file system until everything else in this article is moved to the appropriate location. Rdeckard (talk) 14:37, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
- Looking over what's remaining, I feel like it's overkill to list every kernel option related to a file systems. I suggest we remove what's remaining of this article and make a redirect to the appropriate section in file systems. Rdeckard (talk) 19:19, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
- FWIW, I think the section on FAT is useful, or at least the link to MountFATFileSystems. -- Alad (talk) 22:28, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
- I ended up just moving the NTFS section to NTFS and flagging for cleanup. We also didn't have a FAT article, so I decided to create one and move that FAT information to it. In the end I thought it better to keep the information for now. A redirect now points Mount to the appropriate section in File systems. Rdeckard (talk) 16:37, 1 October 2016 (UTC)
