Hello, i'm a newbye on the wiki and do not understand what i should do exactly. I had to use an 3g zte mf626, and my experience was much simple than described on this wiki. Berore i used ethernet, not wifi, then i did it under KDE :

pacman -U kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement-1:0.9.0.9-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz libmbim-1.4.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz libqmi-1.4.0-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz modemmanager-1.0.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz networkmanager-0.9.8.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz wpa_supplicant-2.0-4-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

pacman -U usb_modeswitch-1.2.7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz tcl-8.6.0-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz mobile-broadband-provider-info-20120614-1-any.pkg.tar.xz wireless_tools-29-8

systemctl enable NetworkManager.service

systemctl enable ModemManager.service

Then insert the ZTE usb 3G and click on the applet Connections, and wait a moment. On the left (Interfaces) you will soon see : Mobile Brodband (not connected). On the right click Manage Connections/Mobile Broadband/Add. Choose "Installed GSM device", your country, your provider. Then you must choose your Billing Plan. Mine was not in the list, so i choosed "My plan is not listed", and could select my plan APN (for me internetneuf for SFR, in France). Then Finish. You will have a window for configuration. I only change the configuration for the PIN. I switch to store and fill my PIN code. And ok. Come back to the applet, on the right (Connections) click on the phone and wait a moment. Then you are connected.

Next time you boot on Archlinux, insert the key and click on the applet, wait a moment until the phone appears on the right, click on it and wait a moment. Soon you will be connected.

And don't forget to modify iptables (or stop by : systemctl stop iptables). Cpalui (talk) 18:17, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
