I am Linux

You may be a PC or a Mac, but I am Linux.

I am Linux, and I am free. I am free in every way, and unbound by class. I am free like the drinks at your friend's party, and I am free to take apart and view, like the world's works of literature. I am transparent like the clear lakes of the taiga, where a person can look from the surface straight down to the rocks and find the fish that they want. I am built on tools clear and crystal, like a great pyramid of diamonds.

I am Linux, and when I don't like the way things are going, I don't throw money at the wall, I use my own two hands to change reality. And when I'm done, I share my methods with my friends and collegues, so that everyone's world gets just a little better. I do not know the meaning of 'customer service', my lifelines are built on very real communities by individuals who give others their time and talents, because they believe in an idea. When I have a problem, I don't fill out paperwork and forms, I sit down and discuss the situation with peers who know what they are doing.

I am Linux, and you may not know it, but I am in many servers in schools and companies. I am the mother of your workstation with Windows or Mac, supplying lifelines to keep your work up to date with others around you. When you surf the internet, there is a good chance that the wave below you was made by me.

I am Linux, and I am the dream of a college student, realized by him and a community of idealists who believed that computers should belong to the people that own them. I am the product of a democracy of independent, intelligent individuals.

I am Linux, and I let the facts speak for themselves, without spin, celeberites, or sexy yuppies.

I am Linux, and I defend myself from viruses and adware better than any company's operating system. My foundations are solid, and my walls are strong. I am not a glass house of leaks defended by ad hoc mercenary software. I don't need it, I am strong on my own.

I am Linux, and I was already better than your operating system two years ago.
