Palette
The palette cycles around the fixed anchor #1793D0 (the blue of the official Arch logo with a hue of 200, this value must under no circumstances change) and red (which has a significant meaning and less than minimal deviations from hue 0 are not "red") The gap 0-200 doesn't allow to cycle in 60° so the other values are somehow™ distributed, trying to maintain saturation an value. Green and yellow have a slight red bias, because yellow has unpreferable contrast and because the blue is biased towards cyan (so the used cyan is almost green itself)
At the same time they need to reasonably contrast with the dark (#333333, the background of the header on this webpage) and the bright (#fafafa, which is not offensively white and has a cool sound) color. Staying away from the extremes allows to have at least minor contrast in the "black" and "white" terminal colors, eg. 0: #272727, 8: #161616, 7: #f0f0f0 and 15: #ffffff
