User talk:Hellwoofa

From ArchWiki

I will reply to your messages on this very page and not on your user talk page, so best is to mark this page to be watched, then you'll get an email if I replied to your request! This way, conversations aren't split up on two pages and can be read by "thirds" easier

Talk about enabling of user styles in the wikis

No problem! :)

Didn't realize that there was/is a spam problem on the Arch wiki until you posted on the Arch forum about this spam problem. Guess helping with spam is another way to contribute to this excellent Linux distribution. :)

WIkiAdmin notification?

Hi! Didn't realize that there is a wiki-god and that I am under guidance! Wow, this is some heavy stuff! :D My previous message (the one with the headline: No problem! :) ) was supposed to have a signature but somehow it got lost. I hope it works better this time. PJ 16:48, 29 March 2006 (EST)

looks good :) Are you watching this page and getting the email for the change that i'm committing with this post, from wikiadmin, too? PS: are you TPJ from the forums? Hellwoofa 18:27, 29 March 2006 (EST)
No, I didn't get any e-mail but then I didn't have the page on watch. Now I have changed that so any further changes will probably be e-mailed to me by the wikiadmin. If you mean PJ from arch forum then I have to say yes that's me. I am not sure, but I would guess that you to have the same username in the arch forum. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I meant TPJ, a man from Poland to whom I had personal contact already, but thet's probably another one then. The strange thing with the notification email is, that I don't get emails, when "normal" articles which I have on my watchlist are deleted, cause then I'd have dozens of mails a day... So this may be a funktion to help the user to stay in tune on conversations that are going on on other user's talk pages. Which is why I think, btw, that a conversation should be on one page only so both people writing on one page and not the one always answering at the talk page of the other one :) Greetings from the complicating writer :) Hellwoofa 01:59, 30 March 2006 (EST)
Wow, now I got an e-mail too! :) That would be someone else, I am from Sweden. Another reason to have it on just one page is if someone else has an opinion and wants to joint the conversion. Can't really say that we have that problem right now. But who knows, it could be a problem in the future. I am not saying that it is a problem, just that it could be a problem. :) PJ 02:30, 30 March 2006 (EST)
Ah, so the mail-after-an-edit-of-a-user-talk-page-which-is-on-ones-watchlist is a quite sensible feature. Have you enabled the "Add pages you edit to your watchlist"-Option in your Preferences already? It would secure in a case of a little talk like ours here, that you don't forget to mark the page to be watched and so can still take part in the conversation (it's to be found under "Editing"), quite a cool feature, I'd say, I like it very much :) Hellwoofa 11:13, 30 March 2006 (EST)
No, I haven't, guess I have to try change some settings. :) So far I am just starting to learn the wiki-syntax and I haven't had any time to play around with all the cool features. PJ 11:27, 30 March 2006 (EST)
Yeh, another cool feature is that you can easily style the wiki's appereance for you, but unfortunately, this is disabled in this wiki, but wikipedia has it. These Keyboard shortcuts may also be useful to you, I'm still too lazy to really use/learn them... greets, hellwoofa 11:47, 30 March 2006 (EST)
Thanks! I will check it out when I get some more free time which will be in a couple of weeks. PJ 12:00, 30 March 2006 (EST)
