WPA supplicant + systemd-networkd
First, a few comments on wiki editing: please use the edit summary for any changes you make, it is important for the reviewers to know why the change had been made. You should also discuss large changes in the relevant talk page, especially before redoing a reverted change.
About [1], there are numerous problems:
- Duplication of existing sections, see Help:Style#Hypertext metaphor. Basically, the instructions could be simplified as follows:
- Use WPA supplicant to manage WiFi connection.
- Use systemd-networkd to set an IP address, either dynamic or static.
- I don't know where would such section belong, but certainly not under Wireless network configuration#Custom startup scripts/services (read its introduction). Also, if the reader follows Wireless network configuration#Manual setup, Wireless network configuration#Getting an IP address says that getting an IP address is identical to Network configuration#Configure the IP address, which links to systemd-networkd (and more), so I'd say that adding an additional section for wpa_supplicant + systemd-networkd is useless.
- The removed systemd services may still be useful, at least for debugging. See [2] for a similar argument to keep this similar section.
I'm going to revert your changes to the Wireless network configuration page, let's discuss the improvements and possible future re-addition here.
