Edits to Beginners' Guide

Hi and welcome to the ArchWiki! :)

Thank you for your edit to Beginners' Guide, but I think that the instructions should be in the order that they were in, so I undid your edit. But the reason I gave ("/boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg will not exists until syslinux-install_update is ran") was not true. You can indeed edit syslinux.cfg first, and then run syslinux-install_update.

In Syslinux#Automatic Install it is however in the order that it was on the Beginners' Guide. Did you have problems running it in this order?

Again I'm sorry for the confusing undo message. Please let me know if you think you were right so we can redo the edit. :)

Oh! Sorry, I was too hasty to make an edit before taking the time to understand how the tool worked. I really thought I had saved myself some trouble by editing the syslinux.cfg file first. Now I understand that the .cfg is read on boot, not when installing the boot loader! Sorry about that and thank you for taking the time to explain the undo on my edit! --Ratfactor (talk) 21:34, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
