This article describes the use of Brother DCP-7030 (multi function laser copier printer) on Archlinux.

Printing

Refer to the main CUPS article for detailed instructions. This printer uses Brother's brother-dcp7030AUR driver.

Scanning

Refer to the main SANE article for detailed instructions. The scanner uses Brother's brscan3AUR driver.

Udev rule

The printer may need a udev rule to avoid conflicts with SANE - see CUPS/Troubleshooting#Conflict_with_SANE.

Troubleshooting

Software cannot use the scanner

The unit will print but not scan when plugged into some USB 3.0 ports. Use a USB 2.0 port for the printer or disable USB 3.0 by blacklisting the xhci_hcd module if necessary.

I cannot print anything from LibreOffice

If you can print a test page from http://localhost:631, but can't print anything from LibreOffice, try to install a2ps.
