Special Notes (*):

IBM ThinkPad T21

  • Audio:
    • lspci: 00:05.0 Multimedia audio controller: Cirrus Logic CS 4614/22/24/30 [CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accelerator] (rev 01)
    • Driver: snd-cs46xx
  • Ethernet:
    • lspci: 00:03.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82557/8/9 Ethernet Pro 100 (rev 09)
    • Driver: e100
  • Power Management:
    • CPU Frequency Scaling supported by platform, but hopeless at time of writing in Arch. In specific, modprobe apci-cpufreq fails with:
      • FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq: No such device
  • Video:
    • lspci: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: S3 Inc. 86C270-294 Savage/IX-MV (rev 13)
    • Driver: xf86-video-savage
    • Notes: Incapable of running DRM at 1024x768 and 24-bit color due to 8 MB VRAM. Must drop color or resolution to get DRM.
    • For whatever reason, external VGA output (for an external monitor) was disabled. This was fixed by doing this:
      • echo 1 > /proc/acpi/video/VID/DOS
  • Thinkwiki

Lenovo 3000 N200

  • Ref. TY2BAFR, Product Name: 0769BAG
  • Sound: You may have to append options snd_hda_intel model=lenovo to /etc/modprobe.conf for sound to work.
  • Power Management: ACPI is fine, but the thinkpad-acpi module doesn't work for me. Maybe with some tuning in /etc/modprobe.conf?
