KiCad is an open source software suite for Electronic Design Automation (EDA). The programs handle Schematic Capture, and PCB Layout with Gerber output.


Install the kicad and kicad-library package. Optionally you can install the kicad-library-3d package, which provides 3D models for certain components.


The AUR provides the packages kicad-gitAUR, kicad-symbols-gitAUR, kicad-footprints-gitAUR. Optionally you can also install kicad-packages3d-gitAUR and kicad-templates-gitAUR.

Note: The current version of KiCad needs to be run with wxpython-gtk2AUR instead of wxpython[broken link: replaced by python2-wxpython3]
