PHC is a patch with the purpose to downvolting capable processor. This is the most tweak to reduce power consumation in modern PCs, therefore it's very interesting, specially for laptop computers.

Supported cpu

PHC support the two most common processor:

Mobile Centrino, Atom (N2xx), Core/Core2 (T and P - Series)

K8 series

Installing the necessaire

Install phc-intel if you have an Intel processor else if you have an AMD cpu you must install phc-k8 version.

Because needed packages aren't in main repository, we must install from AUR. In this wiki i use the client yaourt.

Then, from the terminal type: (i assume that i'm using an Intel cpu)

sudo yaourt phc-intel sudo yaourt phctool
