The goal of this article is to get cpu speedstepping. Also suspend to ram and possibly to disk too, both possible for standard (non-root) users. This should all be provided by the powersaved daemon.
- extra/gnome-power-manager (or kde equivalent)(optional)
Install by doing:
pacman -Sy powersave gnome-power-manager
- Add your user to the
powergroup (e.g. by editing
powersavedinto the deamons array in
/etc/rc.conf, or manually start the deamon (
/etc/rc.d/powersaved startwith root privileges).
gnome-power-preferencescan be used if you cannot see the program icon in the system tray by default.
