Auto-rotation for Tablet PC

Introduction

Here are some hints on getting auto-rotation workin on your tablet pc.

Requirments

The package linuxwacom is required for the auto-rotation to work properly. You can get this package from the AUR.

Now edit your xorg.conf to add support for your stylus. First add

InputDevice "cursor" "SendCoreEvents"
InputDevice "stylus" "SendCoreEvents"
InputDevice "eraser" "SendCoreEvents"

to the ServerLayout section of your Xorg configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf).

Then add the following sections to the xorg.conf file:

# Linux Wacom
Section "InputDevice"
       Driver "wacom"
       Identifier "stylus"
Option "Device" "/dev/ttyS0" # SERIAL ONLY
       Option "Type" "stylus"
Option "ForceDevice" "ISDV4" # Tablet PC ONLY
       Option "Button2" "3"
EndSection
Section "InputDevice"
       Driver "wacom"
       Identifier "eraser"
Option "Device" "/dev/ttyS0" # SERIAL ONLY
       Option "Type" "eraser"
Option "ForceDevice" "ISDV4" # Tablet PC ONLY
       Option "Button2" "3"
EndSection
Section "InputDevice"
       Driver "wacom"
       Identifier "cursor"
Option "Device" "/dev/ttyS0" # SERIAL ONLY
       Option "Type" "cursor"
Option "ForceDevice" "ISDV4" # Tablet PC ONLY
EndSection

Save the file and restart you xserver for changes to take effect.
