I'm not very good at editing wikis so I'll let a more experienced person bash this into the page. The error came up on an initial install of arch/X11/chromium so I imagine it may be common for anyone just getting into things. I did a base install from an ISO. I imagine if chromium wasn't the first thing I went to install I might have installed some other package that satisfied the font need as a dependency.

Missing fonts cause Chromium to crash on startup

Following error occurs: [7547:7547:26204900482:FATAL:app/gfx/font_skia.cc(152)] Check failed: tf. Could not find any font: Helvetica, sans Trace/breakpoint trap

Fix: install ttf-ms-fonts or DejaVu as per this closed bug report: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/18353
