Load Order Info Needed

This page needs the information about appropriate daemon load order, or a link to the necessary info. Thanks. KitchM 21:47, 5 August 2009 (EDT)

List Thanks

This list is coming along nicely, and is darn handy. Thanks to all who are contributing. - KitchM 16:30, 26 July 2010 (EDT)

Guide

Maybe there should be some sort of guide that outlines how to create a custom daemon... - Tehsusenoh 17:34, 15 November 2010 (EST)

I believe Writing rc.d scripts is intended to fulfill this need, but needs some attention/expansion. -- pointone 20:49, 15 November 2010 (EST)

HAL & DBUS

I'm confused now. Does hal start dbus, or does dbus start hal? - KitchM 18:51, 20 November 2010 (EST)

The HAL daemon script starts dbus, because hal depends on it. You should specify dbus manually anyway, so when you remove HAL (once whatever software still depends on it is updated), things still work. thestinger 19:20, 20 November 2010 (EST)

How to list running daemons?

How to list running daemons? I have tried "yaourt daemon" but found nothing about it. --Repulsive 00:05, 16 July 2011 (EDT)

Have you tried rc.d list? Seems to work here. -- Karol 04:12, 16 July 2011 (EDT)
Thank you! I was sleepy and didn't note this.
what a lovely output it generates! :) --Repulsive 14:33, 16 July 2011 (EDT)
Glad it works for you too. I'm marking this as solved. -- Karol 15:07, 16 July 2011 (EDT)

HAL deprecated ?

I thought HAL is now deprecated, may be a list of software still depending on it on arch would be welcome. Bikepunk 17:09, 1 August 2011 (EDT)

According to [1] we're hal-less.
Let's keep the discussion in one place - [2]. Closing this one. -- Karol 22:54, 20 October 2011 (EDT)
