Reference to ~/.profile

Under Dropbox#Context_menu_entries_in_file_manager_do_not_work there is a reference to editing ~/.profile. I believe it would work for Bash but not for zsh as far as I can work out, but ~/.bash_profile and/or ~/bash_rc would seem to be better. The file did not exist when I attempted to edit it, meaning I went to poke around.

Start_X_at_Login has an expansion of the different files that the reference to ~/.profile might mean. It is complicated but demonstrates the information missing from this reference.

If ~/.profile is correct, then it should take a note saying 'if the file does not exist, create it'. If it is not correct, then a list of different shells and their ~/.profile equivalents would help comprehension.

Actually, this is described in Environment variables, I have added a link to that page into Dropbox#Context_menu_entries_in_file_manager_do_not_work. See if it helps. -- Lahwaacz (talk) 19:22, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
It's now more understandable, and points to the right thing, so thank you for linking that to the right place. I'd never have found it. I've tweaked your grammar and I think this is closed now. I've struck it through. -- Diana Probst -- Artist and layabout (talk) 10:29, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
