I hope you could also try this method - maybe I do something wrong, but I don't think. The error I get is "Error attempting to add filename encryption key to user session keyring; rc = [1]" - even with filename encryption off.

Bugs

I've added a warning about potential bugs in ecryptfs. While I have been affected by the bug presented at Launchpad this only happened in Kubuntu and I haven't tried to use ecryptfs ever since. --Roentgen 09:50, 27 March 2011 (EDT)

I tried severel times to implement the pam-mount section and spent hours of testing it. The PAM-Mount described here is not working anymore - I think there is some mistake anywhere in the "PAM_Mount"-Section (I think it is also not complete) or changes in pam_mount. So I searched and found another solution in the forum which is much more easier to set up and works well. Anrxc dislikes this method - I don't know why but I hope you could add that to the wiki. The error I get is "Error attempting to add filename encryption key to user session keyring; rc = [1]" - even with filename encryption off.
