|−|about six months ago I installed Arch on my laptop, and after not being able to use the laptop for a while, I have forgotten my passwords. Does anyone have an idea how to get into it with something like single user mode so that I can bypass the login, password and once in edit the administrator password? I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks |+|

|−|The definition of simplicity is the same for Arch and for me. And of course its is clearly stated on the faq. What is not clear to me is the definition of transparency. It may be "the user does not see whats going on because its transparent". Obviously its not the Archs definition. So, someone should define it. |+|

Arch on ARM
Since the Arch ARM website links back to this wiki, I figured it would make sense to include support for ARM in the FAQ, do you agree? More specifically, I am referring to the section titled: Q) Why would I not want to use Arch? under the point: you require support for an architecture other than x86_64, i686 or ARM." - I saw your edit and it reminded me of a discussion we had some time ago. We have Samsung_Chromebook_(ARM) and Raspberry_Pi in our wiki, but both articles have a disclaimer, that ARM support is provided by Arch Linux ARM, not the original Arch Linux. There are other Arch-based distros that provide e.g. i586 support, but Arch Linux does not. -- Karol (talk) 04:54, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
- This is the wiki for Arch Linux, Arch ARM is a different project, this must be clear in our documentation, ARM can't be mentioned just like a simple alternative supported architecture.
- Arch ARM is also already mentioned in Arch_Based_Distributions_(Active) and other articles, I think it's enough for people to get to know of its existence.
