I don't like leaving the article uncategorized: personally I consider the warning enough, perhaps we could also put it in this talk page, and leave the freedom to interested people to experiment and report the results in this article, I don't see the harm in doing that. If however mine is the minority opinion, let's just archive this page. -- Kynikos (talk) 15:04, 29 September 2017 (UTC)

The fact that the page exists justifies people asking support: "but I followed the wiki page". The warning is the bandaid, archiving the page is the cure. Jasonwryan (talk) 18:38, 29 September 2017 (UTC)
I'm often the libertarian party here, I know :) but how often does that happen? Why not just ignore those requests? After all as far as I know nobody gets paid to answer support requests here, so nobody is required to do so, including the official staff (perhaps we could state this concept more explicitly and visibly). -- Kynikos (talk) 04:24, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
If only it were so easy. Each of those threads has to be closed with a note explaining why and then moved to the dustbin. It creates a significant amount of work for the team. Jasonwryan (talk) 04:40, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
So that answers my "how often does that happen" question, let's archive this then, cheers. -- Kynikos (talk) 04:59, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
Done. -- Alad (talk) 10:28, 24 November 2017 (UTC)
FWIW, the archiving of this page was a bit of a pain for me earlier because of the hoop-jumping needed to find the text. Once found, the instructions were pretty simple & easy to follow. If the information's accurate and useful (which it was for me) then I agree with Kynikos, it feels retrograde to "hide" useful information because of id10+s. Of course, I don't have to close the silly support requests ;) -- PeteA (talk) 11:34, 20 Janurary 2018 (UTC)

I kinda think we should unarchive this, as there is clearly interest on the topic, even by the devs. If the forum activity is really that bad we can slap a big note at the top saying "this is not supported. people asking for help about this will be banned!" -- Lonaowna (talk) 21:42, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
