So, continuing the discussion from the ZFS article about merging, I think it is time. A lot of the duplicate information in this article is out of sync with the beginners guide.
* #Boot from the installation media can go into the Tips and tricks section.
* I think we could possibly add a "Boot from ZFS" section into the main ZFS article with the required information.

:The best thing to do here would be to remove the duplicated information and just link to the Beginners' Guide where needed, and write here only the adaptations required to use ZFS. -- Kynikos (talk) 08:43, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
::My suggestions, I think this page should just be a complement to the Installation Guide. An interested user should keep both pages open and install.
::- Boot from installation media can be extended adding the alternate easier solution of just adding the demizerone repository to the pacman.conf of the usb key after booting.
::- Partition the destination drive should greatly reduced (or even removed). Everything is in the Beginner guide. The only interesting point is underline the fact ZFS also a volume manager, so a partition for it is enough. A pure ZFS system can have only two partitions, one ext2 for /boot and another for zfs. You can even use zfs on a whole volume, but it tends to confuse the kernel that will add non-existing partitions in /dev.
::- Setup the ZFS partition. It is quite ok, but the part about swap partition can be improved (as in the other zfs article, or even removed). Besides while usually there is no need of manually mounting zfs partition it is necessary for some like /etc or /usr. A note about legacy mounting can help new users.
::- Mount boot partitions should be a general primer how to mount zfs partitions.
::- Install and configure the Arch Linux installation is ridiculous and should be removed. It seems a bad copy of the relative part of the installation guide. The only interesting part IS NOT THERE and is about updating pacman.conf with the correct demizerone repo just after chrooting to update the system.
::- Setup the booloader should be greatly reduced only stating that while normally the kernel wants a root=/dev/disk... line, in zfs instead it is zfs=poolname/rootfsname and the message during boot ``ERROR device= not found`` is harmless as it is related to the root options zfs won't need.
::- Troubleshooting should be probably moved in the general zfs page.
:::It seems a good plan, just go and apply it, but please don't do everything in one single edit, but do several edits instead, at least one for each logical step needed to complete the change. Also please always use the Edit Summary just above the Save Page button. -- Kynikos (talk) 05:24, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
::::Okay i'll start working on it tonight. Thank you very much for the help! Demizer (talk) 16:15, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
::::: The changes Have been implemented. I must say it is much better now. Demizer (talk) 07:04, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
