Using the consolefont hook seems to work as advertised in /lib/initcpio/hooks/consolefont and {{ic|mkinitcpio -H  consolefont}} i.e. I get my font in the early stages of the boot process, while using keymap only sets the font a bit later and mangles Polish accented characters if I'm using {{ic|1=DAEMON_LOCALE="yes"}}. I think we need to add consolefont to the HOOKS list and fix keymap hook description. -- [[User:Karol|Karol]] 11:10, 21 January 2012 (EST)

I wonder what the effect of using btrfs with "compress=lzop" is in [https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Mkinitcpio&curid=2428&diff=294676&oldid=294311 this] edit. Set aside what benchmarks can or can't indicate, are the values comparative with such an option turned on?  Does it not mean even the uncompressed image is compressed (by btrfs)?

keymap v. consolefont

Using the consolefont hook seems to work as advertised in /lib/initcpio/hooks/consolefont and mkinitcpio -H consolefont i.e. I get my font in the early stages of the boot process, while using keymap only sets the font a bit later and mangles Polish accented characters if I'm using DAEMON_LOCALE="yes". I think we need to add consolefont to the HOOKS list and fix keymap hook description. -- Karol 11:10, 21 January 2012 (EST)

compression benchmark

I wonder what the effect of using btrfs with "compress=lzop" is in this edit. Set aside what benchmarks can or can't indicate, are the values comparative with such an option turned on? Does it not mean even the uncompressed image is compressed (by btrfs)? --Indigo (talk) 19:34, 27 January 2014 (UTC)

I vote to delete such Comparison section completely. --Fengchao (talk) 08:59, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Reopening, Fengchao has proposed to delete it, also marking the section with Template:Deletion, and I support his idea.
If however we keep the benchmark, the deletion request must be removed before closing this discussion.
