Why does this article make it seem as if GPT disks are the only option? btrfs is fine on MBR disks. In fact the entire section on GPT partitioning is generic and entirely irrelevant to using btrfs for root. The section should merely point to gpt or mbr partitioning pages.

I have removed the relevant "disputed, unconfirmed blabla" bits about syslinux. Updated the part on installing the syslinux bootloader and added links to relevant parts of the syslinux wiki. The system install part still needs some changes to reflect the use of the AIS (arch-chroot, pacstrap etc). --[[User:Flako|Flako]] ([[User talk:Flako|talk]]) 08:46, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Things to do (accuracy & style)

This article is in real need of extensive editing or a complete re-write (my suggestion). See also Btrfs - Tips and tricks which covers a related topic.

  1. Scope
    1. The scope of this article should focus exclusively on mkinitcpio-btrfsAUR.
      1. All divergent topics should be linked to Btrfs (which should be expanded as needed) or elsewhere.
    2. The scope of topic of this article may necessitate a new installation.
      1. Content that exists in Installation Guide or Beginners' Guide should not be duplicated.
  2. Style
    1. Strict adherence to Help:Style and related Arch Wiki guides should be followed throughout.
  3. Approach
    1. I suggest a complete re-write may be the best method to creating a page that is easier to follow and provides the most comprehensive amount of information on this topic.
      1. Also see Btrfs - Tips and tricks.

I am willing to undertake this project if someone does not beat me to it, but it may not be until December/January (2013/2014) or later. -- AdamT (Talk) 02:05, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

In the introduction, we should make it clear what functions are provided by Mkinitcpio-btrfs? Why this package is needed? --Fengchao (talk) 11:49, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
Looks like this package was never properly updated to follow mkinitcpio developments. Together with the issues describe above, I've redirected it to mkinitcpio. Closing. -- Alad (talk) 16:44, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

works with snapper-gui?

or the kvmp gui? If yes, it would be worthwhile to mention. Y guy (talk) 10:26, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

The answer appears to be "no". From a comment on the AUR page on 2014-02-28 21:15
