Things to do (accuracy & style)

This article is in real need of extensive editing or a complete re-write (my suggestion). See also Btrfs - Tips and tricks which covers a related topic.

  1. Scope
    1. The scope of this article should focus exclusively on mkinitcpio-btrfsAUR.
      1. All divergent topics should be linked to Btrfs (which should be expanded as needed) or elsewhere.
    2. The scope of topic of this article may necessitate a new installation.
      1. Content that exists in Installation Guide or Beginners' Guide should not be duplicated.
  2. Style
    1. Strict adherence to Help:Style and related Arch Wiki guides should be followed throughout.
  3. Approach
    1. I suggest a complete re-write may be the best method to creating a page that is easier to follow and provides the most comprehensive amount of information on this topic.
      1. Also see Btrfs - Tips and tricks.

I am willing to undertake this project if someone does not beat me to it, but it may not be until December/January (2013/2014) or later. -- AdamT (Talk) 02:05, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

In the introduction, we should make it clear what functions are provided by Mkinitcpio-btrfs? Why this package is needed? --Fengchao (talk) 11:49, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

works with snapper-gui?

or the kvmp gui? If yes, it would be worthwhile to mention. Y guy (talk) 10:26, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

The answer appears to be "no". From a comment on the AUR page on 2014-02-28 21:15

"sysfu, I never played with snapper, but in your previous comment I saw ".snapshots/2/snapshot/root". This looks like snapper is storing the root subvolume some folders deeper in the .snapshots directory. So, this will not work with mkinitcpio-btrfs, as we expect the snapshot directly in /__snapshot."
