Oh my, why again? Nobody wants that man stuff. --warriant

Thanks for really useful information :)

On Slackware 13.1, running urxvt 9.07, the second clipboard script's line (modified for xclip instead of xsel)

open (my $pipe,'|-','/usr/bin/xclip -in -selection clipboard') or die;

did not work. Fixed by changing it to

open (my $pipe,'| /usr/bin/xclip -in -selection clipboard') or die;

"Improved Kuake-like behavior in Openbox" section should have its own page

I was thinking of refactoring the urxvt page to have 'Tips and tricks' for non Perl extensions, and create a new section 'Perl extensions'. While I was thinking which should go first in the doc order I noticed that "Improved Kuake..." is like a page within a page. It adds a lot of content to what would be a compact 'Tips and tricks' section, once the Perl exts are moved out. I'm not bold enough to make this edit, what do others think? --StephenB 16:37, 14 August 2010 (EDT)

"Using urxvt with Nautilus "Open in Terminal"

I use Openbox but figured this information is most relevant to rxvt-unicode and so might like to be included on the wiki page. I found that the gnome-terminal package opens xterm by default. This thread in the forums provides a solution.

Install gnome-vfs and gconf-editor and edit the config using gconf-editor

pacman -S gnome-vfs gconf-editor

As normal user run:

Drill down to desktop/gnome/applications/terminal/ and alter the values to:

exec urxvt
exec_arg -e

I removed gnome-vfs (as its deprecated) afterward without any issues as all I needed was the keys created in gconf-editor. I suppose you might be able to manually create the key as an alternative. --James_Robertson 14:29, 27 February 2011 (AEDT)

A better alternative to URxvt.colorUL

URxvt.colorUL changes the appearance of ALL underlined text. A better solution would be to use something like this:

URxvt.matcher.rend.0: Uline Bold fg8

systemd file to initiate urxtvd to run daemon-client setup

nano /etc/systemd/system/urxvtd@.service
Description=RXVT-Unicode Daemon

ExecStart=/usr/bin/urxvtd -q -f -o

systemctl enable urxvtd@$USER
