Planning slight re-structure to move "Shutdown, reboot, suspend, exit, launch terminal from SLiM" from "other options". This is to add a greater emphasis on these important commands (i.e. very useful where a mis-configuration results in being unable to progress past the login screen). —This unsigned comment is by Carlduff (talk) 14:16, 25 November 2013‎. Warn against usage?

On the #archlinux IRC Channel, sometimes users come in having problems with Slim. The response/advice is usually to switch to another DM. The channel factoid !slim states: "Don’t use it. It doesn’t play nicely with systemd, in part due to not being aware of sessions. It’s broken and has bugs that upstream refuses to fix."

I wonder how true this is, and if we should put up a Warning with this text on top of the article. Bwid (talk) 08:46, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

The #archlinux channel "warns" against a host of other software, including netctl, so you'd have to review all bot queries (anyone can add them as far as I know) and check them for factual accuracy... -- Alad (talk) 09:03, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
