Talk:Software access point
I am willing to either update this wiki page massively, or create a new page, because it contains incomplete information on how to actually create an AP rather than bridging interfaces. There is already an article on how to bridge interfaces so I believe this needs heavy edit.
Thank you very much Tasos
- I'm not very acquainted neither with this article nor with Router, however you may add your new information in this article (avoid creating a new page about access points) and leave the current information in a separate section, possibly with a Template:Merge tag to request merging its content with Router. -- Kynikos 07:56, 21 November 2011 (EST)
- Ok Kynikos, I 'll do as you wish as soon as I gather all required information to write a complete article. Tasos
Hmm seems that this was on hold for some time. As I needed to setup my Arch machine as a NATting Wifi router, I put together the steps here now (there's information missing still on how to make the setup persistant). I didn't try the "bridged" approach that was described here before; it appears a bit confusing to me ("old setup" and "new setup", the latter with information that the section is outdated...). Possibly the bridging section this should be discarded for now, replacing it with a pointer to the Bridging page? Azara (talk) 14:52, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
