The `install` section says that syncthing-gtk includes inotify.
I'm confused: Does that mean inotify only runs when the gtk GUI is running? (I can't see a service for it). Do I still need `syncthing-inotify` to have inotify without running the GUI? Ataraxy (talk) 13:54, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, from syncthing-inotify (official Syncthing repo on GitHub):
- Syncthing (core) uses a rescan interval to detect changes in folders. This application (syncthing-inotify) uses OS primitives to detect changes as soon as they happen.
- So the answer to your question is "yes". I think this article is already quite clear about it, but if you want to propose improvements, please reopen this discussion.
