Regarding Thunar Shares Plugin: The version I downloaded (0.2) did not have a PKGBUILD file. I had to follow the README in order to install the plugin. It was pretty easy, just manually ./configure, make and make install and then configure samba the way they describe.

:the article says to use the AUR - it never says there is a PKGBUILD file in the upstream release, PKGBUILDs are for making Arch packages. This is where the link points to: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=24152. Installing things manually with make and make install is probably a bad idea unless you really know what you're doing and can avoid conflicts and do the cleanup yourself. Do you still need to be in storage group? Storage rules were removed from udev in August 2011 and disk access is controlled by udisks, which is implemented through polkit.

Note there is a conflict between this page and the Xfce page (for manual starting in ,xinitrc) - on Xfce the page states that ck-launch-session must be before dbus-launch or there will be disk mounting problems. n this page you show dbus-launch before ck-launch-session. So, which is correct? Nevarmaor 22:21, 14 May 2011 (EDT)

I think you need to be a member of wheel instead now.
:Corrected it, ck-launch-session should be put before dbus-launch, you'd better follow the Xfce article for this. -- Kynikos 07:37, 15 May 2011 (EDT)

Storage group

Do you still need to be in storage group? Storage rules were removed from udev in August 2011 and disk access is controlled by udisks, which is implemented through polkit.

I think you need to be a member of wheel instead now.
