Xfce#Lock the screen gives an introduction to screen locking, but I can't get it to work with xfce4-power-manager on resuming from suspend. I've found little on this and an old bug for Xfce 4.8. . Can others reproduce, and if not, is there an upstream bug report? -- Alad (talk) 10:52, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Multiple modifiers section

Here's a little tidbit I found that may be worth adding to the documentation (although I don't know where it would best fit in):

The setting for easy_click in xfwm4.xml is the name of the modifier key. But what if you want to use multiple modifiers? I want Ctrl+Alt to be the easy_click modifier. After reading through the source to see how it parsed the setting, I found that I could get Ctrl+Alt to work by using this line in the config file:
<property name="easy_click" type="string" value="Ctrl><Alt"/>
 • After reading the XML file, it will have the modifier string as "Ctrl><Alt".
 • When xfwm4 formats that as a modifier (by adding angle brackets around it), it becomes "<Ctrl><Alt>".
 • Gtk parses the pair of modifiers correctly and it works as expected.

How about creating a subsection in Xfce#Tips & Tricks for it, perhaps titled Using multiple modifiers or something along those lines? -- Chazza (talk) 07:30, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
-1 from me for split pages. Reason:
 1. From my experience, such "Tips & Tricks" pages is more likely become out of date and no one care.
 2. It is hard for translation team to follow page split(merge).

I'm a tad confused by your response, Fengchao. Are you saying that articles should not have Tips and tricks sections? They are mentioned in Help:Style#"Tips and tricks" sections and the OP's suggestion seems appropriate for this. -- Chazza (talk) 07:41, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
I think this is just a simple misunderstanding: this discussion is not about splitting the Tips and tricks section :)
I'm +1 for adding the multiple modifiers trick under Xfce#Tips and tricks by the way.

Lock screen on suspend

Xfce#Lock the screen gives an introduction to screen locking, but I can't get it to work with xfce4-power-manager on resuming from suspend. I've found little on this [1] [2] and an old bug for Xfce 4.8. [3]. Can others reproduce, and if not, is there an upstream bug report? -- Alad (talk) 10:52, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
