Hi Lahwaacz,

You should now have natural/reverse scrolling.

I do not quite know if this is the correct place for this message so please excuse me if it is not.

I appreciate the hard work the admins put in to keep the ArchWiki clean but I think that there is a case to include the [https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Xmodmap&diff=next&oldid=434433 edit] about swapping mouse buttons on the Xmodmap page.

I was looking at matters from the perspective of a new user (1 in 9 of whom will be left-handed) who just wants to quickly see how to swap buttons. I took a careful look at at the  [[Mouse_buttons#xmodmap_tweaking]] section which you kindly included in your comment but could not find an explicit reference on how to do this (though it does contain more detail like you said).
You should now have regular old scrolling.

:[[User:Manraj|Manraj]], I have added your text to the main page under the [[Xmodmap#Reverse Scrolling|Reverse Scrolling]] section with a few corrections. Please take a look at the changes I made. You may not have realized it, but this is the discussion page, in the future you should add content to the article page. If you are unsure about the content you're adding feel free to create a new section in [[ArchWiki:Reports]]. Also, please note that is important to sign your contributions on discussion pages with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki> (see: [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Signatures|Signatures on Wikipedia]]).

The edit was meant to be in the same kind of mind-set as the section immediately preceding  - [[Xmodmap#Reverse_scrolling]]. This also is not explicitly described in the [[Mouse_buttons#xmodmap_tweaking]] section but seems to fit in well here.

Swapping mouse buttons

Hi Lahwaacz,

I do not quite know if this is the correct place for this message so please excuse me if it is not.

I appreciate the hard work the admins put in to keep the ArchWiki clean but I think that there is a case to include the edit about swapping mouse buttons on the Xmodmap page.

I was looking at matters from the perspective of a new user (1 in 9 of whom will be left-handed) who just wants to quickly see how to swap buttons. I took a careful look at at the Mouse_buttons#xmodmap_tweaking section which you kindly included in your comment but could not find an explicit reference on how to do this (though it does contain more detail like you said).

The edit was meant to be in the same kind of mind-set as the section immediately preceding - Xmodmap#Reverse_scrolling. This also is not explicitly described in the Mouse_buttons#xmodmap_tweaking section but seems to fit in well here.

I appreciate being relatively new to contributing to the Wiki and it takes a litte time to get used to things but I think there may be a case for this.

Thanks kindly, Kal (talk) 16:41, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I've restored the section and marked it for merging with the Mouse buttons page. I take your point that it's not very readable, somebody will have to do a serious cleanup there... -- Lahwaacz (talk) 17:24, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
