"some unusual features"

What is this referring to? I'm curious to know. Brianbaligad (talk) 06:07, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

The Tek terminal emulation, changing from Xlfd to xft type faces by a menu selection, and the Ctrl-Mouseclick pop-up menus, all seem unusual to me. Being able to customize the mouse-click text selections using regular expressions is a newer feature of xterm that might be considered unusual. Too bad the wiki article doesn't cover that how-to.

trannset-df with xterm emulators

I use xfce-terminal. I think it emulates xterm when compatibility is needed, is it the same as being defined? 'Cause I'm getting errors. Lelele (talk)

Xfce-terminal does not set or use the $TERM variable in the same way as xterm. Xfce-terminal man pages refer to termcap and Archlinux uses terminfo. See this forum thread.

Fix the alt key section

For a user which is customized to emacs keybinding, such as alt+f and alt+b to move a word forward and backward, alt+d and alt+backspace to delete a word forward and backward, one may want xterm to behave as such. For this type of user, XTerm*eightBitInput: false or XTerm*metaSendsEscape: true is needed so that xterm behaves as expected.

For a user which is customized to default xterm settings, such as alt+d to type ä and alt+f to type æ, the default xterm behavior, i.e. XTerm*eightBitInput: true and XTerm*metaSendsEscape: false, is more suitable. Alive4ever (talk)
