Merging with Installing Arch Linux on ZFS?
Does it make sense to keep two different articles? What about just add the sections about how-to add zfs packages to the installation media and the trouble shooting here?
- Interesting. I think it could work, but I am not sure where to place it. The installing on zfs article is very long. Do you have any ideas? Demizer (talk) 03:24, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- I think most of the other article is actually wrongly placed. The information about the partition, formatting, and mounting are covered in the general installation guide, I am using zfs in a bios and efi system and I ignored it. What is really important is: adding zfs packages to the installation media, creating the pool and the fs for installation, and the kernel line to mount zfs root.
Max size of ZFS
On wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZFS )it is claimed that
A ZFS file system can store up to 256 quadrillion zettabytes (ZB)
This means to my understanding 256000 quadrillion exabyte. Here the claim is more moderate : 16 Exabyte. I suppose the difference comes from some 64/128 bit confusion and is of course more of theoretical interest. Michaelcochez (talk) 12:04, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Please do not just delete the external links section. Entering these took a non-trivial amount of time. If you wish to reformat the article, please spend the time to add a new section or whatever preserving these links. I have reverted it to keep the content. Graysky (talk) 21:05, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
- Actually he did spend the time to preserve the links, he moved them with care to the See also section because the Article summary box is deprecated and replaced by the Related articles box, which can't list external links as per style rules :) I've restored his edit, I hope you agree. -- Kynikos (talk) 22:33, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
