This page is a template. It contains no Arch Linux-related information, but should be used as part of other articles. For more information, read Help:Template.

Please do not experiment with this template; you could ruin all pages using this template. If you want to edit this template, copy the text to Template:Sandbox, edit and test it there, and copy it back when it works.

Feel free to voice your opinion regarding this template.

A "deletion" flag used to indicate irrelevant or unhelpful content.

Usage

This template should be added at the beginning of articles or sections being considered for deletion. Ensure to cite specific concerns with the first argument and possibly also on the flagged article's discussion page:

{{Deletion|reason}}

You can override the default discussion page with a second optional argument:

{{Deletion|reason|Talk:Alternative Page}}

Alternatively you can point to a specific section in the default talk page with the named section parameter:

{{Deletion|reason|section=Section name}}

Flagged pages can be found in Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Deletion. Usually there is a two week period between flagging and removing a page, during which users can raise arguments against deletion by starting a discussion on the associated talk page or expand/correct offending material to prevent the page being removed entirely.

Removals are performed by the wiki administrators at their discretion. They may choose to leave more time for feedback/improvement of the article, or give explicit reasons in the edit summary when removing content earlier in exceptional cases.

Note: The talk page is linked through an external link: this is to avoid polluting Special:WantedPages when the talk page does not exist.

Example

{{Deletion|This is just a demonstration template.}}

Reason: This is just a demonstration template. (Discuss in Template talk:Deletion#)
