A "merge" flag used to suggest merging of two articles.

This template should be added at the beginning of articles that duplicate effort or otherwise overlap with an existing article's scope. Ensure to rationalize the proposed merge with the second argument and possibly also on the flagged article's discussion page.

{{Merge|Article to merge with|reason}}

You can override the default discussion page with a third optional argument

{{Merge|Article to merge with|reason|Talk:Article to be merged#Merge discussion}}

You can point to a specific section in the default talk page with the named section parameter:

{{Merge|Article to merge with|reason|section}}

The standard phrasing uses "merging with", however you can be more specific with the named dir parameter, usually in order to get "merging to" or "merging from":

{{Merge|Article to merge with|reason|dir=to}}

Flagged pages can be found in Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Merge. Users are encouraged to participate in merger discussions or simply complete the merge (if sensible). The {{Merge}} flag should be removed after the merge is completed or the proposal is rejected.

{{Merge|Template:Merge|This is just a demonstration template.}}
