<noinclude>{{Template}} The is an attempt to update the Template:Article summary start code by adding a slight border and slightly narrowing the padding for the text under the summary headings. '''See [[Writing Article Overviews]] for usage instructions.'''</noinclude><includeonly>{| style="margin-left: 8px; padding: 5px 8px 5px 8px; border: 2px ridge #AFB1B5; border-spacing: 4px 4px 3px 4px; float: right; clear: right; width: 25%" cellpadding="0" |- style="text-align: center" ! style="background: #333; color: white; padding: 3px" | '''{{{1|Summary}}}'''</includeonly> -- Drankinatty 23:58, 3 March 2011

You should use the Template:Sandbox for these things: you can write there your code, then you can use {{Sandbox|...|...|...}} on the Sandbox page to test it. And please you should also remember to sign your edits. -- Kynikos 06:36, 4 March 2011 (EST)
As in:

Template:Article summary text Template:Article summary heading Template:Article summary text Template:Article summary end

-- pointone 12:29, 10 March 2011 (EST)
Honestly I don't think using the Sandbox template here as an example is so helpful... What's more it will change as users experiment with it. -- Kynikos 17:15, 10 March 2011 (EST)
Quite right. Made the source explicit. -- pointone 18:30, 10 March 2011 (EST)
Another idea:

Template:Article summary text

Template:Article summary text Template:Article summary end

-- pointone 21:16, 13 April 2011 (EDT)
Very nice!
I really don't want to open too many fronts of discussion, but I'm wondering: what is the relation between the summary part of the overview and the text placed over the contents menu (the text before the first header)? In the hypothetical official style guide, should there be allowed only one of them? -- Kynikos 13:25, 14 April 2011 (EDT)

Insert examples?

This template accepts an optional argument to substitute the default text "Summary", but there's no example showing it. While this would be marginally useful in English articles, it's very important for the other languages. For this reason, I don't think new examples should be inserted in Writing Article Overviews, but directly in this template page. These are some example examples :P

EN {{Article summary start}}

FR {{Article summary start|Résumé}}

IT {{Article summary start|Sommario}}

I wouldn't mind doing this on my own, but the source is protected... -- Kynikos 15:23, 10 March 2011 (EST)

Added some basic examples. -- pointone 18:36, 10 March 2011 (EST)
