This is simply meant for code blocks that are multiple lines, right? Otherwise it's much simpler to just use a space ( ). --Dettalk 20:08, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. I see it's sort of mentioned in Help:Style#Code formatting templates:
Use {{bc|code}} for single or multiple lines of code [...]
For short lines of code, you can just start them with a space instead of using {{bc|code}} (see Help:Editing)
