I've been a GNU/Linux user since about 2006 when I got tired of Windows and the lack of customizability and OS control. I started with Knoppix, then went to Debian and Ubuntu until 2007. I looked around for minimalist distros that I could customize myself. I wasn't ready for Gentoo and wanted dependency checking, which disqualified Slackware, so I ended up with Arch. I fell in love with the level of control I had and the ease of PKGBUILDs for any software that wasn't officially supported. Today, I don't see myself using any other distro in a serious manner (at least not without pacman).

I've been a GNU/Linux user since about 2005 when I got tired of Windows and the lack of customizability and OS control.
