As you requested in Template talk:Cmd (now deleted again), here is the last revision of Template:Cmd. Note that the template is officially deprecated on the ArchWiki in favour of Template:bc and won't be reimplemented. -- Kynikos 08:18, 27 February 2012 (EST)

Consistency is key

Thank you for your recent contributions to the ArchWiki. A few pointers:

 • I ask that you please read-over Help:Editing and make note of the stylistic conventions outlined within. Particularly, please avoid double-spacing around headings and use sentence-case for headings (i.e. "My heading" instead of "My Heading").
 • Also, avoid over-categorizing articles. Articles should belong to at most three categories, as a general rule.
 • Finally, avoid copying-and-pasting content that is provided elsewhere without referencing the source! For example, SLiM#All Slim Options. In the event that configuration options change, this kind of information becomes very difficult to maintain.

Thanks for the tips

Thanks for the pointers, I was feeling a little lost regarding the headings and syntax and so forth.

Regarding the slim options, I didn't cut and paste them, I downloaded the latest source code, looked at it a bit, and ran this command to get the options:

sed -n 's/^.*option("\([^"]*\)","\([^"]*\)".*$/\1\t\2/p' slim-1.3.2/cfg.cpp

And I don't think slim is updated very often, it's just a port of login.app to begin with, and it's very simple code-wise. The syslog-ng page I copied much of from the gentoo wiki, but I helped write the article on the gentoo wiki. Anyway, appreciate you taking the time!

I've restored Template:Cmd as you requested. Keep in mind that many of the improvements you made/suggested were incorporated into Template:Command. Please don't use this template other than for testing/development purposes -- I'd like to reduce the number of "command/cli" templates rather than add more. -- pointone 13:04, 10 April 2011 (EDT)

Tmux related article

I noticed this edit you made on the Tmux article. Thanks for the contribution, but I wanted to note that there is already a related article section in the article summary template. Therefore the new section you created is somewhat redundant. Also, I'm also not sure Ratpoison is any more suited to using Tmux than any other tiling window manager nor any desktop environment.

I noticed a similar discussion on Karol's Talk Page. I guess we can continue the conversation there. ~ Filam 10:26, 10 October 2011 (EDT)

New templates

Hi, I'd like to inform you that a new set of code formatting templates is now the official standard, see Help:Style#Code formatting templates. Your user page is using some old templates that are destined to be deleted. -- Kynikos 08:02, 14 December 2011 (EST)

This is a big effort, I've already updated a few 'File' references on the Main.. thanks!

rc.conf article cleanup

You removed the mention of netcfg from the article. I'm not sure if you're done with the cleanup, so I'm just mentioning it here. -- Karol 05:26, 26 February 2012 (EST)

Thanks, I almost forgot to add that back in. I'm finished editing it now if you want to take a crack at it. AskApache 05:40, 26 February 2012 (EST)

Duplicate content

You added the same script in Boot Debugging and Kernel modules, you should leave it only in one article and just link to it from the other one. Also I'm not sure the sample output is necessary, just a description of what it does should be enough. -- Kynikos 08:27, 27 February 2012 (EST)

You probably didn't notice this discussion below all that massive code block, did you? :) -- Kynikos 04:49, 2 March 2012 (EST)

netconsole on GRUB page

Hey, you have added the "Advanced debugging section" on the GRUB legacy page. This got moved to Boot_Debugging. However, I could not find any {} option in rc.d or initcpio. Neither did the boot option work. Are you sure that it works on Arch? It may also be useful to link to the netconsole page. Lekensteyn (talk)

Yes the netconsole= option is actually a kernel cmdline parameter for the netconsole. So it works with Arch, also, I've gotten it to work with Arch and just added a link to the netconsole page. Thanks! -- AskApache (talk) 18:28, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
