::[https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Kernels/Compilation/Traditional&oldid=247981 Here] and [https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Kernels/Compilation/Traditional&oldid=247982 here].  As far as ramdisk building goes, does /etc/mkinitcpio.conf exist?  Of course that affects the stock kernel as well, so copying one to a new filename is wise and then using the -c option.  Personally, I copied a preset in /etc/mkinitcpio.d and tailor it to custom kernel and custom mkinitcpio2.conf.
