I notice that wireless tools are now in base which was the primary reason before that I would have installed base-devel. Thus making the change moot. :) gkey (talk) 19:59, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

Ah sure, thanks for the explanation! :) --Lonaowna (talk) 20:05, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

hostname resolution

Hi, I just browsed over: [1] I agree that the tip should be rephrased for style, but would disagree that hostname resolution has nothing to do with networking. The page, after all, also includes how to setup /etc/hosts. Clearly, hostname resolution is a part of networking imo and in troubleshooting hints, it can be helpful. Maybe you re-consider that edit. --Indigo (talk) 20:03, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi Indigo, thank you for your comment. You are right, I think a small intro to intranet hostname resolution is useful, with links to Samba and Avahi. I'll gladly add a section tomorrow. --Lonaowna (talk) 20:20, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for considering & good point to link out to those indeed. Surely would be beneficial for users if you find the time to do so. closing this. --Indigo (talk) 21:11, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
I've added a little section: Network Configuration#Local network hostname resolution. Feel free to edit if you like! --Lonaowna (talk) 22:03, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
Great. I'll see if I can add something to it. --Indigo (talk) 18:17, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
