Linking to subsections from edit summaries
When referring to article sections in edit summaries, you can use the [[#section]]
format (If you want to refer to a section in a different article, e.g. when editing a discussion page, you can prepend the article: [[#article#section]]
. For a few extra characters this allows anyone interested to directly jump to the section at hand. -- Alad (talk) 16:40, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- Indeed. But perhaps even simpler, when editing a section through its own "edit" link, the edit summary is prefilled with
/* Section title */
, which is rendered into a section link as well upon saving; your edit summaries seem to almost always (but not always) lose this syntax for some reason, perhaps it's due to how you're opening the sections for editing? -- Kynikos (talk) 15:10, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
