Translation out of sync

To answer the comment Nophke so kindly left while undoing the "Bad translation" template (How should french IRC channels be "in sync" with english ones ?):

It should be in sync by copying the English page, but have it translated to French. I am not quite sure how to make this any easier to follow, you take a page and you translate it, without changing up the layout etc. DerpishCat (talk) 23:23, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That implies that translations can't contain any unique information at all. So by the same logic, we should remove all the custom locales from the translated installation guides etc. (strong -1 on that). Anyway, I don't see how anyone could possibly be confused here - the first sentence of the article says "this page is only about the french community channels, for the rest see Arch IRC channels". -- Alad (talk) 09:03, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If they want a page just for french IRC channels maybe they should name it "French Arch IRC channels" DerpishCat (talk) 11:18, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This comment was never meant to hurt you. I opened Template talk:Bad translation and personally invited you there.
This has nothing to do with the current page. We are talking about localized page usage or "Bad translation" template usage!
Those are topics I'm interested in. But let's, please, discuss it in Template talk:Bad translation. Or maybe some admin could state a conduct in Help:I18n! -- Nophke (talk) 19:21, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
