Framework Desktop is not a laptop

@Erus Iluvatar flagged for not following the laptop page guidelines. But the Framework Desktop is a desktop computer, not a laptop. Should it still follow the laptop template/style guide?

It is based on a laptop SoC/chipset, so it does have a few laptop-style quirks: it's basically an all-in-one laptop motherboard with everything soldered on, just in ITX form factor in a desktop case. That's really the argument for following laptop styling, it's a "fixed" hardware build with laptop-like quirks.

If the convention is to follow laptop rules, I'm more than happy to do a fixing pass to adjust what I wrote! Danderson (talk) 19:55, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I should have taken the time to give more details about what was missing. We indeed don't have specific guidelines for more generic hardware pages, so the closest is the laptop guidelines.
As it is, I think it would benefit readers to have the hardware table with the PCI/USB IDs, an "Accessibility" and "Firmware" section. The "Function keys" section does not apply to this device :D
I'll handle the rest of the cosmetics in the meantime :)

OK, that makes sense! I'll collect the information for the device table tonight after work, and write the accessibility/firmware sections. Thank you for fixing the rest of the article, it's much nicer to read now! Danderson (talk) 14:13, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
