Talk:HP Spectre x360 13-aw0xxx

I have a spectre with an 1 TB ssd and 32 GB Optane, everything else looks equal, so my question is: Should i add some hints to the 1TB model or start a new Page for that model?

Mass storage specs aren't relevant as long as the model code matches (dmidecode -s system-product-name). That row could as well be removed from the quoted hardware specs as long as that storage option doesn't need any special quirk to be reported. Nmaggioni (talk) 09:11, 18 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok, thanks for your answer. On my Spectre the output from dmicode is "HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-aw0xxx" so is this equal enough?
And the lspci output from the 1Tb + 32GB Optane model is little different:
58:00.0 Non-Volatile memory controller: Intel Corporation Device 0975 (rev 03)
59:00.0 Non-Volatile memory controller: Intel Corporation Device 0975

Speaker drivers

I just installed arch on this device. The speakers and the microphone did not work out of the box with kernel 5.9.8 and PulseAudio 13.99, even though the page mentions that it works now with kernel 5.9 & PulseAudio 13.99. The kernel parameter that can be found in the history of the page still works to get a working speaker device. Sejsel (talk) 12:18, 14 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Seconded. I noticed that this page had been updated to say that it now works out of the box, but this is not true. Running kernel 5.9.11 and Pulse audio 14.0, it doesn't work. I can only get sound to work using the snd-intel-dspcfg.dsp_driver=1 kernel parameter, and even then no microphone. The edit is not accurate. Lewis2e (talk) 08:11, 5 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Further update - whatever the problem is, Fedora has solved it. Kernel 5.8.15-301.fc33.x86_64 Pulseaudio 14.0 - and both speakers and microphone *actually do* work out of the box Lewis2e (talk) 09:48, 16 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Installing the sof-firmware package eventually worked for me, no issues with those drivers so far. Sejsel (talk) 18:07, 19 January 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
