Is it necessary to create a systemd unit?

At IPFS#Using a service to start the daemon, the first action mentioned is to create your own systemd service unit at ~/.config/systemd/user/ipfs.service. However, before that the user is instructed to install go-ipfs, which already provides file /usr/lib/systemd/user/ipfs.service, which is functionally identical. As a result, the unit the user is instructed to create overrides the one provided by the package. I feel like this is potentially harmful as then the user will miss out if the package gets updated with a different version of this service.
