LD_LIBRARY_PATH hack?

As the page mentions, julia is built against system libraries, which often makes it unusable. I don't like using an aur package just to fix this. Not sure if it's worth mentioning on the page that users like me can download tarballs from the official release page, then simply do e.g. LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$HOME/Downloads/julia-1.8.3/lib" julia and everything works fine. Is this some sort of terrible bad practice? Imyxh (talk) 08:22, 16 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Mix Arch build executable with upstream library is still a not supported combination. It is just like a partial upgrade or worse. --Fengchao (talk) 03:33, 17 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
