From ArchWiki

Running Steam with MangoHud can have undesired side effects.

Hello,

(I should preface this by mentioning I'm running Manjaro unstable but I don't expect that it matters.)

I followed the steps detailed in section 3.4, and I noticed when opening my file explorer (Dolphin) through Steam (for example to view screenshots or browsing a game's folder), if I try to bring up the properties of a folder through the running instance launched by steam, there will be a MangoHud overlay on that window. Here's a screenshot for reference.

I guess it "works as intended", but in this instance it can be a problem. The shortcut to turn off the overlay (RShift+F12) doesn't appear to work either. Perhaps turning the overlay off by default can be a good enough fix in this case. Looselyrigorous (talk) 14:55, 31 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Do you mean Section 3.5 Run Steam with MangoHud? In my case, on Manjaro Stable, MangoHud will not be shown on any Dolphin windows, I'm not sure if that matters, but I run it with mangohud steam. You can adding specific programs to blacklist in mangohud config. EtiamNullam (talk) 08:39, 8 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Visual glitches with certain options enabled with MangoHud might be worth a mention

I think it's worth noting that some options can lead to visual glitches, for me it was af=4 which was adding red outlines in dark places in various games.

Some games where I've experienced it: Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, Don't Starve Together, Hunt: Showdown
